Skin Burns – How to Treat Skin Burns?

Every summer, we find it mot hot than last time. Destruction of ozone layer due to pollution has increased bad effects of sun to reach us. One of such effect is sun burning. Long with sun burn comes possibility of it getting infected. Also one is worried with the possibility of scars left on the area affected with sun burn after it is healed. How to heal them and keep clean is a problem for which one looks forward to. Here we discuss few things which one can follow and be little tension free on skin burn care.
There are three degrees of sun burn which needs to be taken care of differently. Whether skin burn is first degree, second degree or third degree depends upon condition of burn i.e. to what extent it’s burned.
To Start with first degree burnt, it is understood that it is mildest of all and thus little easy to be taken care of. These burns are present on the skin surface and look red in appearance. They are generally heat, pain, and also one may see little swelling on them. When you see first degree burnt skin, it turns white. The skin over the burn may flake or peel off in 2 to 3 days.
The fir degree burn can be easily treated at home. On getting such burn on should soak burned are an cool water as soon as possible for 10 minutes time. Then the surface should be washed with soap and warm water and dried with care. General antibiotic ointment or an aloe vera cream can be applied after drying the skin so that it does not get infected. Then a dry bandage should be applied on surface for its protection which has to be changed periodically. If the burnt pains too much, one can also take help of pain killer for time being like ibuprofen.
Second degree burns forms blisters and are more painful. Their appearance is splotchy and they swell much more than burn of first degree. Unlike first degree burns, second degree burns take about two to three weeks in healing. If such burn is at sensitive area effected by burn, then a doctor needs to be consulted otherwise the burns can be taken care at home .treatment at home for second degree burn is similar to first degree whereby first it should be cooled with cotton wetted in cold water, then antibiotic should be applied and then bandage is to be done covered with medical tape. And the whole process is to be repeated everyday. If the burn turn redder and looks more swollen, you need to see a doctor.
Worst of all are third degree burns. They generally damage skin’s all layers. Skin with third degree burn looks white and charred. They are so deep that they damage nerves and sometimes one can’t even feel the pain. Such skin takes long time to heal and doctor may recommend skin graphing as the treatments for the same. Such burnt require immediate medical help and one should nether put it under cold water nor use any clothing on it.
