Natural Persistent Cough Remedies – 13 Remedies That Work Effectively

Coughing is often accompanied with common cold and flu  but there are many things that can cause a persistent cough. A persistent cough is defined as any cough which lasts for an extended period of time, or recurs.

When coughing is persistent over a long period of time, it can often be a sign of serious serious infection, like Whooping Cough  or a  or a sign of a chronic lung condition like emphysema or COPD, or even lung or throat cancer. These things must be treated immediately by medical care professionals, and this is why it is essential to have an examination if you believe you have developed a persistent cough.

There are several things you can do to alleviate the symptoms of persistent cough. Here are a few tips that you can try to get rid of persistent cough naturally.

1. Combine Honey With Pepper

There are two different ways to use this home remedy for cough.

2. Crush 3-4 garlic pods, along with some cloves. Add this to a glass of milk and boil it, till it is reduced to half of its original quantity.  Drink twice daily. This remedy is considered as one of the effective home remedy for cough.

3. Prepare a mixture by adding 2 tbsp honey with 1 cup orange juice. Drink the mixture 2-3 times in a day.

4. Mix half a teaspoon of tulsi juice with half a teaspoon of ginger juice. Add 1 teaspoon of honey. Take the above mixture 2-3 times a day. This is also useful home remedy for cough.

5. Mix together two tablespoons of water, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of honey, quarter teaspoon of ground ginger and quarter teaspoon of red pepper.  Mix a them and take a teaspoon a day of this mixture. This is a good natural remedy for cough.

6. Mix 5 ml onion juice with 10 ml honey. Drink this mixture at least 2 times in a day. It is an exxcllent cough syrup.

7. Chew 4 black peppers and 4 leaves of holy basil to cure persistent cough and other respiratory problems. This is an effective remedy.

8. Take 1 tsp honey and put a few drops ginger juice in it, along with a pinch of freshly-ground pepper. Consume 2-3 times in a day.

9. Take 1 cup milk and heat it slightly. Now add 1-2 tsp pure turmeric powder to it and drink. Have twice daily.

10. Mix 1 tablespoon poppy seed (powdered) in  8 – 10 tablespoon of coconut milk. Add one tablespoon of honey and drink at nght before gong to bed. This is a good home remedy for cough.

11. Rub Vicks Vicks Vapor  salve or eucalyptus oil onto your chest during nights. This is especially effective if you have a cough that bothers you at night.

12. Mix 2 tablespoons of honey with one cup of grape juice and drink down. Ths is high beneficial for cough.

13. Mix 1 tablespoon honey into 1 cup hot water. Add 1 tablespoon brandy or whiskey. Drink this just before going to bed.
